About Independence Day on the Rock

Independence Day on the Rock is a one-day celebration of our nation's independence. This community event will be held at Traxler Park in Janesville, Wisconsin on Monday, July 4, 2011.

Activities will include a garden tractor pull, Taste of Janesville (food vendors), inflatable jump houses for the kids, idol contest, "anything that floats" race, beer tent, band, and water ski show. The festivities will conclude with a fireworks display over the Rock River.

The event is being coordinated and hosted by the Rock Aqua Jays Water Ski Show Team. The Rock Aqua Jays have been a mainstay in Janesville for 50 years with a solid reputation for producing successful events including the National Water Ski Show Tournament, Mercury Marine Open Tournament, and Fright Factory haunted house. The Rock Aqua Jays Water Ski Club, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that performs twice-weekly free water ski shows from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The team uses its shows as a platform for educating its members and the general public about safe boating and water-skiing techniques.

All proceeds will go to benefit United Way's efforts in Walworth County. This is a clean, fun, family event for adults and children of all ages.

20 FREE Alternatives to Photoshop and other Graphic Editor Software

I had a client that was interested in creating some coupons and fliers for their gazlo.com site. They did not want to have to spend tons of money on a professional graphic editor software so they ask if I had any suggestions. I found a list of great resources that could be used as alternatives to photoshop and other expensive software. Many of these sites are Web-based which means you do not even have to download anything! Check them out and comment if you know of any other great FREE sites to add!

1) Gimp.com - (open source) GIMP is a versatile graphics manipulation package. For those used to doing things in Photoshop, but who are interested in checking out this free software, look into Gimpshop. It’s a modification of Gimp that is similar to Photoshop’s user interface.

2) Getpaint.net - Paint.NET is free image and photo editing software for computers that run Windows. It features an intuitive and innovative user interface with support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools . An active and growing online community provides friendly help, tutorials, and plugins.

3) Seashore - Seashore is an open source image editor for Mac OS X’s Cocoa framework. It is based around the GIMP’s technology and uses the same native file format. However, Seashore only aims for basic image editing purposes, and never meant to replace professionals image editing tools.

4) Picnik - Picnik is the most popular web-based photo editor because it’s now integrated with Flickr. Picnik makes your photos fabulous with easy to use yet powerful editing tools. Tweak to your heart’s content, then get creative with oodles of effects, fonts, shapes, and frames. It's fast, easy, and fun.

5) Splashup.com - (open source) a free full-featured, free range, image editor online. Create new images, edit existing images and manipulate layers with filters.

6) Phoenix - Part of the Aviary suite of creative apps, Phoenix also offers layers and compositing. Aviary.com: Edit images, create mind-blowing effects, design logos, find colors, collaborate, and more. (Adobe Illustrator Alternative)

7) Photoshop Express - Photoshop Express Comes with free 2GB of space. Unlike the real Photoshop, this web version has no ability to layer or composite images.

8) Artweaver - Artweaver is a simple graphic tool that offers all artistic effects which you need for your work. It has all the necessary features of a image editing tool, supports various common file formats and languages.

9) PhotoPlus SE - PhotoPlus is an award winning digital photo editing software. PhotoPlus itself is not free, but you can download PhotoPlus SE, which is a freeware. With PhotoPlus SE, you can perform features such as warps and transformations, filters, adjustments and perfectly optimized images.

10) Snipshot - Snipshot Nice, simple, and clear interface, with no ads at all. Edit pictures online.

11) Sumopaint.com - Online Image Editor

12) flauntR - flautR offers a cornucopia of image tools, boasting thousands of photo effects. If you want to make your photo look like a cheezy painting, this is the place.

13) Pic Resize - The easiest FREE online picture editor is now called DrPic! They have processed over five million pictures!

14) FotoFlexer - is the most powerful online photo editor in existence. It can remove blemishes, change skin/hair color, morph photos and more! 100% free.

15) Photoscape - Photoscape is the fun and easy photo editing software that enables you to fix and enhance photos. Some of the key features are batch editor, animated gif, splitter, color picker and raw converter. Besides using it as image editing tool, Photoscape can be used as a powerful image viewer too.

16) Inkscape - Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Xara X. Is uses the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format

17) Krita - Krita is open source bitmap editing and drawing application for KOffice. It includes a lot of filters for either serious use or just to play around with.

18) Pixen - Pixen is an innovative graphics editor for Apple Mac. It is a simple yet powerful application and comes with tons of features. Some of the examples are layers, able to create animations, powerful palette, beautiful interface, support different file types and so on.

19) CinePiant -CinePaint is a deep paint image retouching tool that supports higher color fidelity than ordinary painting tools. One of the advantage that it has over GIMP is that it is able to support 32-bits image (GIMP only supports 8-bits image). Cinepaint is mainly used by developers in the flim industry for motion picture frame-by-frame retouching. The current version runs on Linux, BSD, Mac OSX. Stable version for Windows is not available at the moment.

20) PaintStar - PaintStar is a versatile digital image processing application which suitable for tasks such as etouching of photographs, composing and authoring images and image morphing. Some of the tools included in this application are transformation tools, gradient fill tools and selection tool.

I'm always trying to do things to help the environment, I recycle, and use "green" bags at the grocery store, my husband installed new light bulbs (which I hate), and our home is "energy star" rated. The Rock Aqua Jays Water Ski Club, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that performs twice-weekly free water ski shows from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Social from the Start

Own your Team
Each social network account will now have a designated Owner who "holds the keys" to that account and can add Team Members to social networks without compromising password security. Team Members can have Basic or Advanced access depending on needs and ownership is easily transferred as roles change.

Business and Pleasure

Two ideal places to embed this code is into your gazlo product pages and your coupons/ads pages. As social media continues it’s world domination around the globe, more and more sites are starting to integrate some really neat social media plugins into their online products. Having one of these widgets or plugins on your profile can make it easy for old and new readers to share your content with friends without any hassles or extra steps.

Widgets:
So you may ask, what is a widget? In computing a web widget is a portable chunk of code that can be installed and executed within any separate HTML-based web page by an end user without requiring additional compilation. That probably doesn't make alot of sense to the average joe.

A widget is a stand-alone application that can be embedded directly into your gazlo pages and other webpages, blogs, or profiles on a social media site. Use Acrobat.com allows you to upload any pdf file directly to their server so you can share it. Once the file is uploaded they will give you sharing options to generate an embed code that you can copy and paste into your gazlo product page. The pdf will then load in a flash widget so people can view and download the pdf. This allows you to link any kind of documentation, brochures and more from your gazlo.com profile.

One of the biggest reasons that many email marketing campaigns aren’t successful is that content isn’t planned in advance. Setting an editorial calendar, similar to print, is a very good idea.

At the very highest level you will probably be communicating with two groups of people: customers and non-customers.
Successful email marketing starts with quality data. Do you know your audience?
As you develop your list take some time to note what exists currently and make a plan to capture additional information over time. The more you know about your readers, the easier it will be to provide valuable, targeted content.
Now think about what information you have and what you’d like to know about new prospects and customers. Typical information below:

• Interest area (product A or B, specific service, information, etc)

Step Three: Set Goals & Plan Content
Email can be seen as a tactical and inexpensive way to reach out to prospects and customers to quickly increase sales or drive traffic to the website. It’s a valid but very short-sighted view. By build¬ing a sound strategy via a calendar, you will be able to set expectations for long-term success up front and alleviate frustrations.
So here’s the most important question you need to answer: What is the ultimate goal for your email marketing?
What will email marketing contribute to your existing marketing efforts? How will your marketing ef¬forts tie together? What are the metrics you will use to evaluate the success of your email marketing? What are the objectives of your campaigns? What do you want to tell your customers in…

If the answer is no to any of these, then don’t expect the recipients to act on your message. Always create an offer that provides value.
To determine the best format, decide the best way to reach your goals and objectives. Would a single offer produce the best results, or would a message with multiple offers? What about a newsletter? Keep in mind the goals of your email marketing. Are you creating a format for acquisition, retention, transactional, branding?
The last piece is the message. What do you want to communicate to your audience? How much con¬tent will that require? Who will be providing that content? Consider both the marketing and support aspects of your message, and keep your content streamlined. KEEP IT SIMPLE!!!!!!

Step Four: Post-Email Support
You will inevitably have email address changes. After each viral blast be prepared to clean your list.

The announcement made by Gov. Doyle this month that Wisconsin has received $23 million in federal funding—combined with a state match of $5.7 million—to help provide broadband Internet access across the state is great news for Wisconsin.
The governor announced the funding—received as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act—at the Brown County Central Library, one of 467 sites in more than 380 communities across the state to receive portions of the funding. Among the locations receiving funding are 74 schools, eight post-secondary schools—including two tribal colleges—and 385 libraries statewide.
In addition to the sites gaining access to broadband, the project also opens the door for additional broadband expansion. The vast majority of recipients are within a few miles of police stations, fire stations and hospitals, and more than 125,000 households are within the market area of the sites receiving funding.

For surgical appointments, patients are admitted to the hospital between 7:30 and 8:30 the morning of the procedure. For a dental, your pet will be discharged the same evening with home care instructions and information from the staff. In support of Dental Health Awareness month, your pet will also go home with a "home care dental kit" complete with pet-safe toothepaste and a toothbrush, so that you can keep your pets' teeth and gums healthy long after their veterinary cleaning!
Cats and dogs cannot brush their teeth, and although some of them have opposable thumbs (dewclaws) they certainly cannot hold a piece of floss. When your pet has infection in their mouth such as tartar, calculus or infected gums, each time they swallow that bacteria travels through the rest of the body and can lead to further problems. That is why dental care is such an important part of our job. Schedule an appointment for your cat or dog to come in and have their teeth cleaned and polished (dental prophylaxis) and receive 15% off the dental cost.
